Greetings, Tucson Area Artist! My name is David Aguirre, and I am organizing the Tucson Studio Tour for November 4t and 5th of 2017. As you may know, the former TPAC is no longer doing the studio tours. So, I am going to pick up the ball and move it to amazing new place.

  1.  The Tucson Studio Tour should be it’s own thing, and not part of another arts organization with lots of other programming not directly benefiting artists.

  2. It should be grass roots driven, even if it doesn’t have a lot of glitz and pizzazz, although it might!! 3. This is basically a rebuilding, and recreating, and reimagining year.

  3.  Still, and I’ve done this before, if you join me in creating the Tucson Studio Tour I think I can make this grow into something pretty awesome.

  4.  It’s grassroots, baby! Let’s keep it in house, non corporate. Let’s grow it together!

What will it cost me?

It’s Free, sort of. If you are opening up your own studio, it’s free. Sign up. Each stop gets a listing. If you are setting up at the Steinfeld Warehouse that weekend, Nov 12-13th, I need to raise $30 per artist to help with ongoing renovations to the building. Let me know if interested in being at the Steinfeld Warehouse that weekend. There’ll be a fee of some sort for artist exhibitions at the Steinfeld beginning in December, but we’ll discuss that later.

Will people come to my studio? I don’t know. I can tell you that you’ll be listed with all the other artists who are hoping that the public will come see their artwork. Anything else? Heck ya! This is the most fun part! We’ve been doing two artist studio tours a year, right?? Why not add other supporting activities for artists? Let’s do a Tucson Studio Tour Preview Exhibition at the Steinfeld Warehouse, 101 W. Sixth Street, on Friday, October 7th, 5-8pm. Getting all the artists together for a celebration is always a fun time!

Then, November 12-13th we’ll do the Studio Tour. Then in December, Tucson Studio Tour Artists will do a holiday market at the Steinfeld.(fee based to help with renovations)

Future Future!

And then there’s the Spring Tucson Studio Tour. We’ll discuss dates. The Tucson Studio Tour will introduce First Fridays, which will offer exhibition opportunities to Studio Tour artists. We will introduce The Tucson Flea which will be weekend sales of art and collectibles. We hope to start incorporating studio tours of neighborhood studios during Porchfests, too!

I want to be listed in the November 12-13th Tucson Studio Tour, the Nov 19th and 20th tour and/or The Holiday Market (December 3-4) at the Steinfeld Warehouse!
